6,500 sea cruise passengers for SAIL Amsterdam

SAIL Amsterdam, the largest free tall ship event in the world, did not go by unnoticed by only the Dutch. As much as four sea going cruise vessels, from the Americas and Europe, did call at the port of Amsterdam especially for SAIL.

The ‘Wind Surf’ moored in the centre of the SAIL area. She did arrive on August 19, enabling the passengers to witness the SAIL IN Parade. The ship left on August 20. The other three vessels include turn arounds, the ‘Celebrity Silhouette’ and ‘Costa Fortuna’, and an overnight call from ‘Azamara Quest’. These vessels moored at AMT and VCK quays, in the western part of the Amsterdam port. Approximately 6,500 sea cruise passengers, from mainly America, Canada and Italy, will be able to experience the SAIL festivities.

River cruise also joins in
Not only sea cruise passengers enjoyed SAIL Amsterdam 2015. Several river cruise shipping companies have been invited to visit the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area during SAIL. The cities of Haarlem, Hoorn, Zaanstad and of course Amsterdam were on the program. This way Port of Amsterdam showed the shipping companies everything the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area has to offer the river cruise industry and passengers.
